Start with the project, then choose the material

“A load of stone” is not a complete order. A driveway repair, landscape bed, and drainage project may need different material characteristics. Identify the intended use and confirm the product specification with the supplier or project professional before scheduling delivery.

JF Property Services lists landscape delivery options including mulch, loam, stone, rock, sand, and firewood. Ask about current availability and the exact material you need. A photograph can help explain the project, but it does not replace confirming the product.

Write down measurements and units

Measure each area separately and note the desired finished depth. Keep the units consistent when sharing measurements. An area measured in feet and a depth measured in inches need to be converted before calculating volume; the supplier can help you check an estimate.

For a rectangular area, cubic yards equal length in feet multiplied by width in feet multiplied by depth in inches, divided by 324. This is a starting volume calculation, not a guarantee of the order quantity. Irregular beds, existing material, settling, and compaction may change the amount your project needs. Confirm the final quantity with someone familiar with the application.

Decide exactly where the load should go

Choose a drop-off spot that is accessible to the vehicle and workable for the next stage of the job. Think about where you will move the material afterward. A convenient-looking spot can block parking, a gate, or the route needed by a contractor.

  • Photograph the approach and intended delivery area.
  • Describe slopes, soft ground, narrow turns, and overhead obstructions.
  • Keep vehicles and equipment out of the agreed route.
  • Explain whether the delivery is to a home or an active worksite.

Send one complete delivery request

Include your address, the material specification, estimated quantity, preferred timing, and access notes. Ask the team to confirm delivery scope and pricing before placing an order. If several materials are needed, discuss whether they require separate loads and how they should be kept apart.

Ready to line up your project? See material delivery. If you need transport for another type of load, ask about dump truck services and describe both pickup and delivery locations.
